Moving to Pineville: A Practical Checklist

The most useful thing you can do before moving is to research the exact address, not just the town name. Here is the order we'd work in.

Address-by-address checklist

  • Confirm jurisdiction: is the parcel in the Town of Pineville, the City of Charlotte, or unincorporated Mecklenburg County? Use Polaris.
  • Look up the current tax rates that apply to that jurisdiction.
  • Confirm the school assignment with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools for that address.
  • Identify utility providers — electric, water, sewer, trash and recycling.
  • Drive or ride your real commute at the hours you'll travel.
  • Read HOA documents if applicable: dues, assessments, rules.
