Using the Blue Line from Near Pineville
Scope: I-485/South Boulevard station is in Charlotte, near Pineville
The LYNX Blue Line, operated by the Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS), ends at the I-485/South Boulevard station in south Charlotte. It's the closest light rail station to Pineville — but it's not in downtown Pineville, and the line does not run along Main Street.
Where the station is
The station sits along South Boulevard near I-485, north of downtown Pineville, inside the City of Charlotte. It is the line's southern terminus, with a park-and-ride facility. Check CATS for current parking information.
First- and last-mile planning
- Driving and parking is the most common approach for many Pineville addresses.
- Drop-off and rideshare work but add cost and wait time.
- Bus connections exist in the area; confirm current routes and schedules with CATS before relying on them.
- Walking or cycling depends entirely on your route and comfort with major-road crossings.
Plan the whole journey
A short drive to the station doesn't mean a short commute. Add the drive, parking, waiting for the next train, the ride itself and the walk at the other end. Check CATS service alerts before you go. We don't describe proposed extensions as operating service.
